PM Modi Affirms Strong India-US Ties, Confident in Trade Talks.

NEW DELHI: (Sep 10) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday responded positively to US President Donald Trump’s upbeat comments about trade talks between the two nations. Modi expressed confidence that the ongoing negotiations will open up the huge potential of the partnership between them.

On X (formerly Twitter), Modi stated that India and the US are “close friends and natural partners” and are working to finish the trade discussions as soon as possible. He added, “I am also looking forward to speaking with President Trump. We will work together to secure a brighter, more prosperous future for both our people.”

Modi’s remarks came hours after Trump said he was sure there would be “no difficulty” for the two countries to successfully conclude the trade talks. Trump also said he looks forward to speaking with his “very good friend” Modi in the coming weeks.

These comments signal a recent improvement in relations after weeks of tension, which followed Trump’s decision to impose a 50 percent tariff on Indian goods. This is the second time recently that Trump has praised the relationship with India and PM Modi, and Modi has responded in kind.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reaffirmed the strong relationship between India and the United States and expressed confidence in the ongoing trade negotiations. Shri Modi stated that both nations will work together to create a brighter, more prosperous future for their people.

Responding to a post by US President Donald Trump on X, Shri Modi said: “India and the US are close friends and natural partners.
