Thiruvananthapuram: (August 26) Kerala’s Finance Minister, K. N. Balagopal, has expressed concern over the GST reform proposals from the central government. He has asked the central government to take steps to protect the income of the states.
He stated that the state has no opposition to tax reduction, but the benefit should reach the common people.
“When taxes are reduced, it’s important to protect the states’ income, or it will affect welfare schemes,” he told reporters here.
