‘Parannuyaram Karuthode’ Campaign Launched to Bolster Women Empowerment.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Women’s Commission has launched a statewide campaign titled ‘Parannuyaram Karuthode’ (Let Us Rise with Strength), aimed at empowering women to face life’s challenges and crises with confidence. Minister for Health and Women and Child Development, Veena George, officially inaugurated the campaign at Vyloppilli Samskrithi Bhavan on Monday.

During her address, the Minister noted that while Kerala women excel in education, their representation in the workforce remains disproportionately low. She emphasized that life events like marriage or childbirth should not hinder a woman’s career. The Minister also assured that the state government would provide hostel facilities in all districts for job-seeking women and strictly enforce the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act in all workplaces, including the film industry.

Renowned actress Manju Warrier, the campaign’s brand ambassador, highlighted the necessity of financial independence for women. She shared that she draws inspiration from ordinary women who break barriers, such as those working as JCB and truck drivers. The event, chaired by Women’s Commission Chairperson Adv. P. Sathidevi, saw participation from various dignitaries and social activists. (Keralanews.Gov)
