THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A clash erupted during the Vellaikkadavu temple festival in Vattiyoorkavu, resulting in an attack on a BJP councilor. R. Sugathan, the councilor of Vazhottukonam ward, was allegedly assaulted by DYFI workers following a dispute over the temple’s cultural programs.
The conflict started when a group insisted on conducting a musical stage show instead of the scheduled devotional music session, eventually disrupting the festivities.
