Man Dies of Heart Attack After Firecracker Explodes in Hand During Vishu Celebrations.

PALAKKAD: In a tragic incident during Vishu celebrations, a 34-year-old man lost his life after a powerful firecracker exploded in his hand at Sreekrishnapuram in Palakkad. The deceased has been identified as Dileep, a resident of Vellappamthodi, Ragam Corner. The accident occurred at around 8:30 PM on Wednesday while Dileep was celebrating the festival with fellow club members.

According to reports, Dileep was holding multiple high-intensity firecrackers (locally known as Gundu) in his hand. While attempting to light one, the sparks reportedly spread to the others he was holding, causing them to explode simultaneously. The explosion resulted in severe burn injuries to his hand and body.

The preliminary post-mortem report suggests that the sudden and intense shock of the explosion triggered a fatal heart attack. Although bystanders and friends immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, doctors declared him brought dead. The local community remains in deep mourning following the tragic death on the day of the festival.
