KOCHI: A newborn infant was found abandoned near a roadside food stall in the vicinity of the Forum Mall in Kochi. According to the Maradu police administration, the baby was discovered by local residents and is estimated to be just a few hours to a day old. Law enforcement officials were immediately alerted to the scene to secure the infant.
Following a medical evaluation, the police confirmed that the baby’s health condition is completely stable and satisfactory. For further protection and legal care, the child has been officially handed over to the Ernakulam Ammathottil specialized facility. Meanwhile, the Maradu police team has launched a comprehensive investigation, scanning local hospital records and neighborhood CCTV cameras to trace the biological parents who abandoned the child.
