KOZHIKODE: Havildar S. R. Arun Raj, who tragically lost his life after an Army vehicle plunged into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir, was laid to rest with full military honours at his native place in Chelannur, Kozhikode, on Saturday, officials confirmed.
Havildar Raj (40) and his colleague were killed on Wednesday when their Army utility vehicle lost control and tumbled into a ravine in the high-altitude Kargil sector.
The fallen soldier’s mortal remains were flown into the Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery on Friday night before being transported to his ancestral residence in Kozhikode for final rites.
