All Ration Shops to be Converted into K-Stores: Minister G.R. Anil

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Food and Civil Supplies Minister G.R. Anil has announced that as part of the diversification of the public distribution system, all ration shops with adequate infrastructure will be converted into K-Stores in a phased manner. The initiative aims to make ration shops more people-friendly by offering a wide range of essential services and products under one roof.

Speaking after inaugurating K-Store No. 141 in Thiruvananthapuram Taluk, the Minister noted that there are currently 2,188 K-Stores operational across the state. He highlighted that these stores would provide access to MSME products, Milma dairy products, Cashew Development Corporation items, and Chotu gas cylinders. Additionally, K-Stores will serve as hubs for Common Service Centre (CSC) facilities and various banking services to assist the general public.

Minister Anil urged the public to make maximum use of the expanded services available through these modernized stores. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Andoorkonam Panchayat President Archana, District Panchayat President Karthika, Block Panchayat Member V.S. Bindu Kavi, Ward Member Sumina Nawas, District Supply Officer Sindhu K.V., and Taluk Supply Officer Sindhu Lekha. (Keralanew,gov)
