MINAB/TEHRAN: In a devastating turn of events during Operation Lion’s Roar, at least 51 people, including students, were killed on Saturday when an Israeli-US airstrike hit a girls’ school in the southern city of Minab. These represent the first confirmed civilian fatalities on Iranian soil since the massive aerial offensive began earlier today. Reports indicate that the school is located near a paramilitary Revolutionary Guard base.
Following the strikes, US President Donald Trump issued a direct appeal to the Iranian public, urging them to “seize control of your destiny” and rise up against the clerical leadership that has held power since 1979.
