THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a shocking display of medical negligence, surgeries at the Peroorkada ESI Hospital were disrupted for the second consecutive day due to an ongoing ego clash between doctors. Despite clear instructions from Minister V. Sivankutty to conduct the pending surgeries today, anesthetists reportedly walked out of the operation theater even after patients were prepped and brought inside.
One patient, Bindu, who was scheduled for a thyroid surgery, was left inside the theater as the specialists departed. The conflict involves anesthesia department doctors Binil and Priya, and surgery department doctor Ganesh. This internal feud had previously led to the cancellation of five surgeries, forcing patients to seek treatment elsewhere. The Hospital Superintendent has submitted a report to the ESI Director recommending strict action against the doctors involved. (Kerala News)
