Drama Festival to Kick Off Today Under Aegis of Tagore Library at Karunagappally

KARUNAGAPPALLY: The much-awaited drama festival organized by the Kozhikode Tagore Library and Reading Room is set to commence today. At a press conference, the organizers announced that Dr. Sujith Vijayan Pillai, MLA, will officially inaugurate the festival this evening, January 4, at 6:00 PM. Municipal Chairman P. Somarajan is scheduled to deliver the keynote address.

The opening ceremony will also witness the honoring of distinguished personalities, including Pochayil Nazar, Rahman Munambath, Arya P. Jith, and Ayush. Following the formal function, the play ‘Amgam Jayikkan Oramma’ by Kollam Chaithanya will be staged. The festival itinerary includes ‘Akathiekku Thurannitta Vathil’ by Dream Kerala on Jan 5, ‘Akashathekku Oru Kadal’ by Kollam Anaswara on Jan 6, and ‘Navajathashishu Vayassu 84’ by Ambalappuzha Saradhi on Jan 7.

The concluding session on January 8 will be inaugurated by C.R. Mahesh, MLA, with Library Council Secretary V. Vijayakumar delivering the keynote speech. The festival will draw to a close with the staging of the play ‘Vamsam’ by the Ajantha Theatre Group. Library President G. John Kutty, Secretary S.
