Kochi police have filed a case against Malayalam actor Lakshmi Menon for her alleged involvement in the abduction and assault of an IT professional. The victim, Aliyar Shah, filed a complaint after he was allegedly kidnapped following an altercation. CCTV footage reportedly shows the actor and her group blocking Shah’s car and causing a disturbance.

The incident took place on Sunday night near the Ernakulam Town North over bridge. According to the police, Shah reported the incident early Monday morning.

Shah claims the dispute began at a bar near Marine Drive, where a verbal argument broke out between his group and the actor’s friends. After leaving the bar in their car, Shah says Menon and her companions pursued them, intercepted their vehicle near the over bridge, and forcibly removed him from the car.

He alleges that they then drove him towards Aluva, assaulting him inside the vehicle before dropping him off near Paravoor Junction.

Police have confirmed that a case has been registered under various sections. Three of the accused—Midhun, Aneesh, and Sona Mol—have been arrested and remanded. The police officer stated that Lakshmi Menon is currently in hiding.

In a separate development, the accused have filed a counter-complaint, claiming that Shah and his friends had misbehaved with the women in their group, thrown beer bottles at them, and physically assaulted them.
