The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) announced the plan on Tuesday. The Departments of Health, Police, and Transport will lead the meetings. The decision was made during a meeting led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to review how private ambulances are used to transport seriously ill patients.
“This often happens against the wishes of patients or their families,” Vijayan said in a statement. “Patients are misled into believing that government hospitals lack proper treatment facilities. We must take these issues seriously.”
