THRISSUR (KERALA): A new incident of custodial torture has surfaced in Kerala after CCTV footage from Peechi police station showed an officer assaulting restaurant employees in May 2023. The footage was released on Sunday by Thrissur-based businessman K. P. Ouseph, the managing director of Laly’s Group, who claimed his employees were assaulted on May 24, 2023.
According to Ouseph, the incident began with a verbal argument between a man from Palakkad named Dhineesh and some of his restaurant staff in Pattikad. Dhineesh then went to the Peechi police, alleging he had been assaulted by the hotel employees.
