The engineer, Akashdeep Gupta, lived in the Alambagh area of Lucknow with his wife, Bharti, who works at a bank. They got married in April this year. Akashdeep’s father, Kuldeep Gupta, said his son had taken time off work to come home for Diwali. Akashdeep, who loved cricket, had gone out to play on Tuesday evening. When he returned home late that night, he felt a little sick after eating dinner. He was taken to the hospital right away but died there. Hospital staff then informed the local police about the death..
Alambagh Police Officer (SHO) Subhash Chandra Saroj said that while early reports suggest the death might have been caused by a heart attack, the true reason will only be confirmed after the post-mortem. Akashdeep had been working on the BrahMos missile project for the past three years. He had married his wife, Bharti, an employee of Canara Bank in Delhi, in April this year. She had come to Lucknow to celebrate the Diwali festival. Akashdeep’s father, Kuldeep Gupta, retired from the Uttar Pradesh Police two months ago. The police are currently looking into all the details of the death. Akashdeep’s father, Kuldeep Gupta, said: “My son had a happy Diwali celebration. My daughter-in-law was also at home. After dinner, everyone went to their rooms. A little while later, his health suddenly got worse. We quickly took him to the hospital, but the doctors told us that he had passed away shortly after.”
