The Minister stated that the government is focusing on projects aimed at the welfare of the people. He noted that the government stands with the people by providing free travel for cancer patients. He also highlighted that the government made key interventions to prevent starvation in Kerala even during the COVID period, and that the public and the government stood united to overcome floods, the pandemic, and other disasters.
He provided the details of the construction costs:
The Alissery water tank, with a capacity of 28 lakh (2.8 million) litres, was built at a cost of ₹11.73 crore (117.3 million rupees).
The Chudukkad water tank, with a capacity of 16 lakh (1.6 million) litres, was built at a cost of ₹7.40 crore (74 million rupees).
The Minister also laid the foundation stone for the renovation of the water supply network in the Alappuzha Municipality areas, which are part of the Ambalappuzha constituency, a project costing ₹70 crore (700 million rupees).
H. Salam MLA presided over the function. The MLA stated that the government is spending ₹260 crore (2.6 billion rupees) on installing drinking water pipelines and tanks.
The event was attended by Municipality Chairperson K. K. Jayamma, Vice Chairman P. S. M. Hussain, Standing Committee Chairpersons, various Ward Councillors, Chief Engineer V. K. Pradeep, Superintending Engineer M. Harikrishnan, Executive Engineers from KIIFB and the Project and PH Divisions, other public representatives, political party representatives, and officials.
