Delhi Blast: Red Fort Metro Station Closed, Traffic Police Issue Advisory

NEW DELHI: (Nov 11) The Red Fort Metro Station has been closed to commuters following a blast in the area that killed at least nine people a day earlier, with traffic restrictions also being imposed in the vicinity, officials reported on Tuesday.

A high-intensity explosion occurred Monday evening, ripping through a slow-moving car at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station. Officials stated that twenty people were also injured in the blast, which resulted in several vehicles being gutted by fire.

In a post on X, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) stated: “Service Update. Lal Qila Metro Station is closed due to security reasons. All other stations are functional as normal.” (PTI)
