SRIHARIKOTA (ANDHRA PRADESH), NOV 2 (PTI): ISRO is set to launch its heaviest satellite on Sunday using an Indian rocket. The heavy-lift LVM3M5 vehicle will carry the 4,410 kg communication satellite, CMS-03, to a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO).
Significance: This marks a milestone as the satellite is the heaviest to be launched from Indian soil and placed into a GTO. Furthermore, it is ISRO’s heaviest satellite ever launched using a domestically developed rocket.
Update: ISRO officials confirmed on Sunday that the countdown for the launch is “progressing smoothly.”
