Preparations for the high-profile event are already underway, with the state administration announcing that Gandhi Maidan will be closed to the public from November 17 to November 20.
Cabinet Finalisation and Schedule
The NDA partners have begun the final distribution of cabinet positions. The new government will include the major allies—the BJP and JD(U)—along with the smaller partners: Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM-S, Chirag Paswan’s LJP (RV), and Upendra Kushwaha’s RLM.
Sources within the BJP indicate a proposed cabinet split where 16 MLAs from the BJP and 14 from the JD(U) will take the oath, supplemented by three from the LJP (RV) and one each from HAM-S and RLM.
The schedule for Monday is packed with crucial political steps:
Final Cabinet Meeting: The outgoing cabinet will hold its last meeting at approximately 11:30 AM.
Dissolution Request: The cabinet will then urge the Governor to dissolve the Assembly.
Resignation and Claim: CM Nitish Kumar will proceed to the Raj Bhawan to formally submit his resignation, request the dissolution of the Assembly, and stake a claim to form the new government.
JD(U) Leadership: Later in the day, Kumar will meet the newly elected JD(U) MLAs, where he will be formally chosen as the party’s leader in the Assembly.
The recent Bihar poll results saw the BJP win 89 seats, the JD(U) win 85, the RJD win 25, and the LJP (RV) win 10, securing a comfortable majority for the NDA coalition. (TV9)
