The official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that the sea-to-surface cruise missiles were launched to the west of the Korean peninsula on Tuesday. They reportedly flew for over two hours before accurately hitting targets in North Korea’s western waters. KCNA stated that these weapons would help expand the operational sphere of the country’s nuclear-armed military.
The missiles were fired vertically and traveled for about 7,800 seconds, or roughly 2 hours and 10 minutes, along a predetermined route to strike their target. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was not present at the test, according to the KCNA report. (With input from independent)
