The Information and Public Relations Department has opened applications for the State Photography Awards for the years 2023 and 2024. The general public can submit their applications until November 20.
The themes for the awards are:
2023 Theme: ‘Shuchitwam’ (Cleanliness)
2024 Theme: ‘Athijeevanam’ (Survival/Resilience)
Priority will be given to photographs with Kerala as the backdrop.
Prizes and Awards
The top three winners in each category will receive the following cash prizes, along with a certificate and a sculpture:
First Place: ₹50,000
Second Place: ₹30,000
Third Place: ₹25,000
In addition, ten participants will be given Consolation Prizes of ₹2,500 each, along with a certificate.
Submission Guidelines
Contestants can submit up to three entries in each category via the online links provided.
Excessive editing or highly skilled manipulation using technology is not permitted in the photographs.
Artificially created photos will not be accepted as entries.
A suitable title, along with the location and context where the photo was taken, must be provided for each entry.
Eligibility
Photographers employed in government departments or autonomous bodies, and newspaper photographers, are not eligible to participate in the competition.
The Department reserves the right to use the submitted photographs for its official purposes.
