The deceased, Aswathi (34), was a private school teacher from Kottavattom. She was brought to the hospital around 3 pm. After being admitted and starting treatment, her condition quickly got worse, and she was moved to the ICU. Hospital staff informed her family that she had died around 6:30 pm.
After hearing the news, a crowd gathered at the hospital. Relatives argued that the death was caused by the hospital’s mistake (medical negligence), leading to arguments and chaos. Police stepped in to calm the situation, and the body was then taken to the morgue.
Hospital Superintendent Dr. K.R. Sunilkumar said Aswathi received all the necessary care and tests when she arrived. He added that the exact reason for her illness could not be found, and a full post-mortem examination will be done on Tuesday at Paripally Medical College Hospital, supervised by a police doctor. Aswathi is survived by her husband, Srihari, and their four-year-old son, Ambaadi.
