Filming at Kodungallur Bharani Sparks Controversy: No Permission from Devaswom Board.

KODUNGALLUR: A major controversy has erupted following an unauthorized film shoot during the Kodungallur Bharani festival. The filming, which depicted a violent clash between individuals dressed as ‘Komarams’ (oracles) and others in police uniforms, was reportedly conducted without the prior consent of the Devaswom Board.

The scenes showed oracles attacking police officers and subsequent police retaliation, which led to widespread confusion and outrage after the clips went viral on social media as real-life incidents. It was only later revealed to be a scripted movie scene.

Authorities have confirmed that no official permission was granted for the shoot, and the police have launched an investigation to identify the production crew involved. (Kerala News)
