Flood Fatality in Oman Tourism Spot; Native of Kollam Dead.

MUSCAT: Mahesh Kumar (50), a native of Kandachira in Kollam district, died after being caught in a sudden flash flood at the popular tourist destination Wadi Bani Khalid in Oman. The tragedy occurred when water levels in the waterfall rose abruptly following heavy rainfall. His body is currently kept at the Ibra Hospital morgue awaiting repatriation procedures.

This incident brings the total number of Malayali fatalities in the recent Oman floods to three. Previously, Fahad Yusuf (38) and Shamla Lubishad (32), both from Thrithala, lost their lives after their vehicle was swept away in Barka. Search operations are still underway for Fahad’s mother, Ramlath (58), who remains missing. Authorities have reiterated warnings for residents and tourists to avoid wadis and low-lying areas as unstable weather conditions persist across the Sultanate. (Kerala News)
