Hijab Row: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Gets Death Threat from Pakistan-based Gangster; Patna Police Files FIR.

PATNA: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has reportedly received a death threat from a Pakistan-based gangster following the recent “hijab controversy” at a state function. The suspect, identified as Shahzad Bhatti, uploaded a video on Instagram warning the CM of “dire consequences” if he failed to tender an unconditional apology to the woman involved.

The controversy dates back to December 15, when CM Nitish Kumar was distributing appointment letters to newly recruited AYUSH doctors. During the event, the CM was seen pulling down the veil of a Muslim doctor, Dr. Nusrat Parveen, reportedly to make her face visible to the cameras. While the ruling NDA defended the move as a “fatherly gesture,” opposition parties like the RJD and Congress slammed it as a violation of a woman’s dignity.

Taking swift action on the threat video, the Patna Police registered an FIR at the Cyber Police Station. Inspector General (Patna) Jitendra Rana confirmed that they have approached Meta to block the social media account and provide user details. Investigations reveal that Bhatti, allegedly operating from Pakistan’s Punjab province, has been linked to anti-India activities in the past. Senior police officials, including the State DGP, are personally monitoring the high-profile probe. (TV9)
