Hindu Youth Burnt to Death in Bangladesh’s Narsingdi; Police Investigate CCTV Footage

NARSINGDI: A 25-year-old Hindu man, Chanchal Bhowmik, was tragically burnt to death in Narsingdi, Bangladesh, on Friday night. The victim was reportedly asleep inside a garage when a fire broke out, leading to his death. Authorities are currently investigating whether the incident was a tragic accident or a deliberate act of violence.

Narsingdi Police Superintendent Abdullah Al Faruque confirmed to news agency ANI that investigators have recovered CCTV footage from the vicinity. The footage shows an unidentified individual moving suspiciously near the site around the time of the incident. This discovery has prompted a deeper look into whether the fire was sparked by an “external factor” or a technical issue such as an electrical short circuit.

According to the police, the blaze originated within the shop where Bhowmik was resting. Emergency responders from the fire service eventually broke open the locked shutters to attempt a rescue mission, but they found the young man’s body already charred beyond recognition. As of Sunday, no arrests have been made, and the local police continue to examine forensic evidence to determine the exact cause of the fire.
