Kochi/Thodupuzha: The much-anticipated ‘Drishyam 3’, featuring the successful combination of Jeethu Joseph and Mohanlal, has officially completed its shoot. The full pack-up of the film took place on December 2nd at a location in Kochi.
Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, ‘Drishyam 3’ continues the saga of Georgekutty and his family, a story that holds significant influence over the audience. The filming commenced on September 22nd, with Kochi and Thodupuzha serving as the primary locations.
Pre-Release Hype Creates History!
‘Drishyam 3’ has already earned the distinction of being a regional Indian film that generated massive hype, securing an astonishing ₹350 crore in pre-business even before its release. The ‘Drishyam’ series is arguably a pioneer in the family thriller genre in India. The immense success of the first film was the driving force behind the sequel and the third installment.
Mohanlal’s Playful Query
A released video clip captures Mohanlal’s words just before the last shot, drawing immediate attention. He can be heard playfully asking, “Is Georgekutty correct? I have a doubt after everyone said it was!” The video also shows Mohanlal embracing producer Antony Perumbavoor and director Jeethu Joseph, and the crew celebrating the wrap with a cake-cutting ceremony.
Plot Progression
Director Jeethu Joseph revealed that the film’s narrative will focus on the changes that occur within Georgekutty’s family four and a half years after the events of ‘Drishyam 2’. As with the previous two installments, audiences are anticipating major twists and high suspense in the third part.
While ‘Drishyam 2’ is still in the process of being remade in other languages, ‘Drishyam 3’ is set to arrive in theaters soon. Immediately after wrapping up ‘Drishyam 3’, Mohanlal flew to Goa to begin shooting for ‘Jailer 2’.
