The valedictory function was graced by Malayalam superstar Mohanlal. The actor’s presence electrified the atmosphere as thousands of students greeted him with chants of ‘Laletta’. Over the past five days, the cultural extravaganza across 25 venues in Thrissur became a symbol of unity and artistic brilliance, fostering new friendships among students from across the state.
Inaugurating the ceremony, Leader of Opposition V.D. Satheesan lauded the State Government’s special gesture in allowing Siya Fathima—a Class 10 student from Kasaragod who was in quarantine—to participate in the festival virtually. However, he also voiced concerns over the growing trend of brain drain, urging a collective effort to create more opportunities within Kerala for the younger generation.
Revenue Minister K. Rajan presided over the function, while Speaker A.N. Shamseer delivered the keynote address. Education Minister V. Sivankutty announced that the department is planning to modernize the Kalolsavam manual to suit the current times. He also shared plans to establish dedicated arts training centres across the state, similar to the existing sports training infrastructure, to nurture young talent. (TNIE)
