In a dual-pronged approach to rehabilitation, the cabinet also granted approval for the ‘Ujjivan’ scheme. This initiative is specifically aimed at providing financial assistance and livelihood support to disaster-affected residents in both Wayanad and Kozhikode districts. According to an official statement released by the Chief Minister’s Office, these schemes are part of the state’s comprehensive efforts to rebuild the lives of those impacted by the natural calamities in these regions.
The Ujjivan project is expected to help small-scale entrepreneurs, farmers, and commercial establishments restart their economic activities through facilitated bank loans. Meanwhile, the special Kudumbashree loan package will focus on providing immediate financial liquidity to women-led neighborhood groups in the affected wards, ensuring that families have the necessary resources to regain their stability.
