Kerala Remembers Social Reformer Mannathu Padmanabhan on His 56th Death Anniversary.

Kerala is paying rich tributes to the legendary social reformer and founder of the Nair Service Society (NSS), Mannathu Padmanabhan, on his 56th death anniversary today, February 25, 2026. Known as the “Madan Mohan Malaviya of Kerala,” Padmanabhan passed away on this day in 1970 after a lifetime dedicated to social equality and community upliftment.

Floral tributes and commemorative prayers are being held at the Mannam Samadhi in Perunna, the headquarters of the NSS. Leaders across the political and social spectrum recalled his pivotal role in landmark movements like the Vaikom and Guruvayur Satyagrahas, which were crucial in the fight against untouchability in the state.
