Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized that art should be the “religion of the artist” and noted that the festival’s growth into Asia’s largest cultural event is a testament to Kerala’s robust education system. He remarked that the evolution of the festival over the past 70 years has been truly remarkable.
The opening day saw nearly 14,000 participants showcasing their talents across various venues in the city. Major highlights included:
High-Voltage Performances: Mohiniyattam and Group Dance (HS) drew massive crowds at the main stage, with the latter being a visual spectacle of creativity.
Diverse Art Forms: Competitions in Mimicry, Bharatanatyam, Paniya Dance, Ottanthullal, and Sanskrit Drama delighted art aficionados throughout the day.
While music venues were packed with connoisseurs, the more “glamorous” dance events witnessed a sea of people, marking a vibrant start to the week-long cultural extravaganza.
