Kerala Secures Third Place for Republic Day Tableau; Returns to Medal Standings After 12 Years.

NEW DELHI: In a moment of great pride for the state, Kerala’s tableau showcased during the Republic Day Parade 2026 has won the third prize. This victory marks Kerala’s return to the national award list at the Republic Day celebrations after a hiatus of 12 years. The state’s presentation stood out among more than thirty tableaux from various states and union territories for its innovative portrayal of Kerala’s modern achievements.

The tableau highlighted two of the state’s major milestones: the Kochi Water Metro project and its achievement of 100 percent digital literacy. The concept and execution were led by T.V. Subhash, Special Secretary and Director of the Information and Public Relations Department (I&PRD). Assistant Editor Ratheesh John served as the Nodal Officer, overseeing the fabrication at the Rashtriya Rangshala camp under the guidance of senior I&PRD officials.

Designed and fabricated by Roy Joseph for J.S. Chauhan and Associates, the tableau featured music composed by Mohan Sithara, with lyrics by Deputy Director V.R. Santhosh and vocals by K.A. Sunil. A team of 16 artists performed a traditional yet contemporary routine choreographed by Jayaprabha Menon. The award recognizes Kerala’s success in blending its cultural identity with futuristic infrastructure and social development models on the national stage. (Keralanews. Gov)
