An orange alert has been issued for the next three hours in the districts of Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Malappuram. These areas could experience moderate rain and strong winds of up to 50 km/h. All other districts are likely to see moderate rain with strong winds of up to 40 km/h.
A yellow alert is in effect for Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod for today and tomorrow, with the possibility of isolated heavy rainfall. The IMD defines heavy rainfall as 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours. Residents living in areas prone to landslides and flash floods have been advised to move to safer locations as directed by local authorities.
