The life story of musician M S Subbulakshmi is set to become a film. Reports suggest that Sai Pallavi will portray Subbulakshmi in the film. Geetha Arts is reportedly producing the biopic of the Carnatic music legend. It is expected that the life of Subbulakshmi, an unparalleled figure in Indian classical music, will soon be seen on screen. The writing and discussions for the film are currently underway. Reports also suggest that Gautam Tinnanuri, who directed Jersey and Malli Raava, will direct the film. M S Subbulakshmi was the first musician to be honoured with the Bharat Ratna. She received the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1974, and her influence on Indian culture is profound. Subbulakshmi passed away in 2004 at the age of 88.
