OACHIRA: In a coordinated operation, the Oachira Police and the Karunagappally Sub-Division DANSAF team successfully seized 20.01 grams of MDMA in two separate incidents. Four individuals were arrested during the raids conducted on February 11 and 12, 2026. According to the police, the seized drugs were smuggled from Bengaluru and were intended for distribution among college students in Oachira and neighboring areas.
In the first raid, which took place at approximately 7:00 PM on February 11, the police apprehended 24-year-old Nithin from Varavila, 22-year-old Abhishek from Prayar South, and 22-year-old Archand from Thodiyoor. The team recovered 2.96 grams of MDMA from Nithin’s residence. In a subsequent operation the following night around 9:30 PM, the police arrested 26-year-old Anoop, a native of Kottayam currently residing in Changankulangara, and seized 17.05 grams of MDMA from his possession. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Karunagappally ACP John and led by SIs Kannan and Saisenen of the DANSAF team, along with Oachira Sub-Inspector Aneesh. (Kollam City Police)
