Major Fire Guts Furniture and Appliances in Ghaziabad Residential Building; Residents Evacuated.

Ghaziabad: A large fire erupted in a five-storey residential building at Friends Avenue, Shakti Khand 2, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, on Wednesday (October 22), causing panic among local residents. Thick smoke was seen billowing from the structure as people rushed out to safety.

Swift Response and Evacuation
The Ghaziabad Fire Department immediately dispatched multiple fire tenders. Firefighters worked hard to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to adjacent buildings. Local residents played a crucial role, safely evacuating more than a dozen families before the flames intensified.

No Casualties Reported

According to initial reports, the fire is believed to have started accidentally during Diwali celebrations when fireworks were being lit. The fire quickly spread, completely destroying household furniture, appliances, and other belongings. Authorities confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident.

As a precaution, the building and adjoining houses were evacuated while emergency services remained on the scene to fully douse the flames. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. A technical team is scheduled to inspect the site for the possible source—such as an electrical malfunction or gas leak—once firefighting operations are complete.
