The man accused of luring minor Hindu girls and pressuring them into religious conversion, Imran, was arrested in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, following an encounter with the police. A joint team from Talgram Police Station and the Special Operations Group (SOG) surrounded the accused, leading to an exchange of fire. Imran was shot in the right leg and then apprehended. He was taken to Tirwa Medical College for treatment.
The incident dates back to October 13, 2025:
The Lure: Imran, a 25-year-old resident of Tahpur village, allegedly befriended a local 16-year-old Class 12 student, lured her, and took her away.
He then forced the girl to wear a burqa, took photos and videos of her, and pressured her to convert to Islam and marry him.
When the girl refused, the accused reportedly assaulted her and threatened to make her photos and videos viral. After being held captive for several days, the minor managed to escape and return home three days before the arrest, where she revealed the entire ordeal to her family.
Even after she returned home, Imran continued to threaten and harass the victim over the phone. When she refused his demands, he allegedly posted her photo wearing a burqa on Instagram with the caption, “Happy Wedding Anniversary…”
This post caused immense distress to the family, who immediately filed a police complaint (FIR). The police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the POCSO Act, and joint teams were formed for the arrest.
Imran, who worked at a private hospital, reportedly targeted girls who came for treatment. According to the victim’s mother, Imran used a Muslim girl to trap the Hindu victims and then uploaded their videos online. She claimed that he had trapped nearly 10 Hindu girls, but their families remained silent due to the fear of social stigma.
The police have recovered “incriminating photos, chats, and videos” from Imran’s mobile phone, suggesting his involvement with several other girls. He has been booked under sections related to molestation, cybercrime (IT Act), and the POCSO Act, and an investigation into his network and accomplices is underway.
