Oman Indian School Film Festival Concludes; Indian School Sur Emerges Overall Champions.

MUSCAT: The annual Short Film Festival organized by the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman concluded on a grand note at Indian School Darsait. Renowned Malayalam filmmaker Kamal attended the valedictory session as the chief guest. The festival saw participation from 20 Indian schools across the Sultanate, showcasing the creative talents of students and teachers in categories like short films, reels, awareness videos, advertisements, and films by children with special needs.

Indian School Sur clinched the coveted Overall Championship trophy. In the individual categories, Indian School Wadi Kabir swept the awards for Best Short Film and Best Actress, while the award for Best Actor went to Indian School Darsait.

The event was also attended by Omani actor Talib Al Balushi, popular among Keralites for his role in the movie Aadujeevitham. A special highlight of the festival was the ‘Kamalam Lalitham’ pavilion, set up by the Malayalam Department of Indian School Darsait as a tribute to director Kamal’s cinematic journey. Judges from the Omani film industry evaluated the entries, and the festival venue was decorated with artistic displays reflecting the world of cinema. (Oman News)
