JAMMU: Two balloons bearing markings linked to Pakistan were recovered from Village Gunara near Nili Nallah in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu district on Monday, February 23, 2026, triggering a police inquiry.
The balloons were discovered in an open area within the jurisdiction of the Khour Police Station.According to official sources, the materials carried a Pakistani mobile phone number and a printed image resembling a scanner code (QR Code). Significantly, some Pakistani and United States currency notes were also recovered from the spot alongside the balloons.
Upon receiving the information, police teams secured the area and took the items into custody for detailed examination.Authorities are currently verifying the origin of the balloons and investigating the intent behind the printed contact details and the inclusion of foreign currency.
