DOHA: Qatar has temporarily ceased its LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) production after coming under attack amid the escalating Middle East conflict. Residents in Qatar were jolted awake by the sound of loud explosions on Monday morning, followed by emergency government alerts sent to mobile phones urging everyone to remain indoors for their safety.
Tehran has claimed responsibility for ongoing strikes across the Gulf region, stating that it is targeting United States interests. Amid the chaos, Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has officially ruled out any negotiations with Washington. The conflict has also spilled over into Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, following Hezbollah’s retaliatory strikes against Israel for the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The escalation has sent shockwaves through the global economy, causing stock markets to tumble and oil prices to surge as investors flee from risky assets. Furthermore, Qatar Airways has temporarily suspended all operations due to the closure of the country’s airspace. ( Doha News)
