Thiruvananthapuram: N. Devakiamma, the mother of former Leader of the Opposition and Congress Working Committee member Ramesh Chennithala, passed away at the age of 91.
N. Devakiamma was a former member of the Chennithala panchayat. Her husband, the late V. Ramakrishna Nair of Chennithala Thripperunthura, Kottur Kizhakethil, was a manager and teacher at Chennithala Mahatma High School.
The couple had four children: Ramesh Chennithala, K. R. Rajan (former manager at Chennithala Mahatma High School), K. R. Vijayalakshmi (retired government school teacher), and K. R. Prasad (retired Indian Air Force personnel).
The funeral rites are scheduled to be performed on Tuesday at 12 noon at the Chennithala family residence.
