Russia Releases Video Proof of Alleged Ukrainian Drone Attack on Putin’s Residence; Kiev Denies Claims.

MOSCOW: The Russian Defence Ministry has released video footage of an alleged long-range Ukrainian drone, claiming it was part of a major attack on President Vladimir Putin’s residence. According to Russian officials, the downed UAV was a modified Ukrainian-made ‘Chaklun-V’ reconnaissance drone carrying a 6kg explosive charge.

The Russian military stated that on the night of December 28-29, Kiev launched a total of 91 drones targeting the presidential compound in the Novgorod Region. Moscow claims all 91 drones were successfully neutralized by air defenses. A map outlining the flight path of these drones was also published as “irrefutable evidence” of a planned terrorist strike.

Refuting these allegations, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy termed the report a “deliberate lie” aimed at disrupting the ongoing peace negotiations involving US President-elect Donald Trump. Meanwhile, Donald Trump expressed concern over the reports, stating he had discussed the matter with President Putin. “It’s not the right time to do any of that,” Trump told reporters, referring to the alleged escalation during a delicate period of peace talks.
