Saudi Arabia Intercepts 9 Drones Targeting Shaybah Oil Field; Issues Stern Warning to Iran.

RIYADH: The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that its air defense forces intercepted and destroyed nine drones targeting the Shaybah Oil Field in the Empty Quarter. Following this, early on Tuesday, a ballistic missile and several drones launched toward the Kingdom’s Eastern Province were also successfully shot down. These escalations come a day after a “military projectile” struck a residential site in Al-Kharj, killing two individuals—an Indian and a Bangladeshi national—and injuring 12 others.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry condemned Iran’s “sustained campaign of aggression,” warning that Tehran would be the “biggest loser” if attacks continue, as the Kingdom reserves the right to protect its sovereignty. Additionally, Saudi Arabia expressed solidarity and condolences to Kuwait and the UAE following the recent loss of their military personnel during national duties. (Arab News)
