The incident occurred outside a three-storey residence in the Brajeshwari Annex Colony between 3.30 am and 4.30 am.
According to local police officials, the initial blast at the car charging station was followed by the explosion of cooking gas cylinders inside the house, which significantly intensified the flames. Emergency services rushed to the spot to control the blaze, but seven residents could not be saved. (PTI)
