Kozhikode: A Sub-Inspector (SI) was stabbed during an altercation right in front of the Kozhikode Town Police Station on Saturday evening. The injured officer has been identified as SI Shafi. Following the incident, the police quickly took the accused, identified as Pramod, a native of Edakkad, into custody.
Incident Details
The incident occurred around 5:15 PM at a hotel located directly opposite the police station. According to reports, Pramod had arrived at the hotel for tea and got into a heated verbal argument with the staff. The situation quickly escalated into a physical brawl.
When SI Shafi intervened to de-escalate the fight and settle the dispute, the accused allegedly attacked him with a sharp object, resulting in a stab wound.
Current Status
The injured officer was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Kozhikode for treatment. Medical authorities have stated that his injuries are not life-threatening. The police have registered a case against Pramod and are currently interrogating him to determine the exact circumstances that led to the violent outburst. (Kerala News)
