WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump has issued a harsh warning to Iran, stating the U.S. will respond with “death, fire, and fury” if the country interferes with oil shipments in the Strait of Hormuz. Speaking on Monday, Trump warned that any disruption would lead to a U.S. response “twenty times harder” than previous actions, with strikes so devastating that it would be nearly impossible for Iran to rebuild.
The President also commented on the current leadership crisis in Iran following the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Trump claimed there is total uncertainty within the Iranian government, stating, “nobody has any idea” who is actually running the country. He further alleged that Iran rejected an offer for free, unlimited nuclear fuel for peaceful use because they are determined to build nuclear weapons, despite recent U.S. military strikes known as Operation Midnight Hammer that destroyed key Iranian sites.
