Woman Maoist Surrenders in Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat, First Since State’s New Rehabilitation Policy.

A 23-year-old woman Maoist has surrendered in Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat district, marking the first such instance in the State since the implementation of its new rehabilitation policy, which was introduced in August 2023, officers confirmed. The surrendered Maoist, identified as Sunita, is a resident of Bhairamgarh tehsil in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district and was an active member of the GRB (Gondia, Rajanandgaon Balaghat) division of the Maoists.

She gave herself up at the Chauriya camp of Madhya Pradesh’s anti-naxal Hawk Force on Saturday night (November 1, 2025). The GRB division operates as a part of the MMC (Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh) zone. (As reported by The Hindu).
