Murder Confirmed in Malayattoor Missing Case: Boyfriend Arrested for Killing 19-year-old Student over Suspicion.
ERNAKULAM: More details have emerged regarding the death of the 19-year-old woman found dead in Malayattoor. Police have confirmed that the death of the student, Chithrapriya, was a murder, and her boyfriend, Alan, has confessed to the crime.
Police stated that Alan murdered Chithrapriya by hitting her head with a stone due to suspicion. Alan suspected that the victim, who was studying in Bengaluru, had another boyfriend there. He reportedly saw pictures of her with another male friend on her phone, which triggered the assault.
Alan, who had been questioned and released earlier, was recalled by the police after CCTV footage evidence was obtained. The police further clarified that the murder was committed under the influence of alcohol. A scuffle reportedly occurred between Chithrapriya and Alan before the killing, and the police noted that there were injury marks on the deceased’s body. The arrest of the 21-year-old Alan, a welding worker from Kalady, will be formally recorded immediately after the post-mortem report is received. (Kerala News)
