She is accused of falsifying official board minutes to misrepresent gold-clad temple artefacts as “copper plates” to facilitate their unauthorized removal and smelting. While the ED has already questioned former administrative officers S. Sreekumar and Murari Babu, the focus has now shifted to tracking the financial trail and identifying the beneficiaries of the illicit gold extraction. Although Jayasree is under investigation, she currently holds interim protection from arrest granted by the Supreme Court.
Adding a high-profile dimension to the probe, Malayalam actor Jayaram has also been summoned by the ED and is expected to appear for questioning on Tuesday. The actor’s association with the prime accused, Unnikrishnan Potti, came under scrutiny after videos surfaced of him participating in private rituals featuring temple artefacts that were purportedly meant for replating. The agency is investigating whether any suspicious financial transactions occurred between the actor and Potti. (TNIE)
