House Gutted in Fire Near Kottiyam- Keralam Amid Extreme Summer Heat; Major Tragedy Averted.

Kollam: As extreme summer heat continues to wither the region, fire accidents are becoming increasingly common across the district. In a recent incident near Decent Mukku in Kottiyam, a house was partially destroyed by a fire.

The blaze broke out on firday around 4:00 PM. Although local residents noticed smoke rising from the roof and attempted to douse the flames, their efforts were unsuccessful, leading them to alert the fire department. It took three fire engine units and nearly three and a half hours of intense effort to bring the situation under control.

The tiled roof, furniture, and electronic appliances inside the house were entirely reduced to ashes. A major tragedy was averted as no one was inside the building at the time of the incident.

Reports suggest that dry leaves in the same compound had caught fire a week ago. A 16-member team led by District Fire Officer Rajkumar headed the rescue operations. (KN)
